In this introductory linoleum block printmaking class we will start with the basics through a series of short demos at each stage of the process including: how to use carving tools, what kind of 'Lino' to use, how to use ink and printing tools and finally how to get a successful hand-printed image. We will work with one linoleum block, creating a simple drawing (or use one of the many templates available), learn best carving techniques and finally print an edition or small group of prints by hand using soy based easy clean up ink. There will be opportunities for experimentation and playful color surprises and design possibilities with just one carved image! Come with a sense of fun, exploration and whimsy. Leave with solid printmaking skills and a thirst for more!
